Yup completely agree.... I've under 25, just qualified as an optometrist in the UK and only have one year of work experience- in training- (total of 2yrs in Nov, & 3 in Nov '23 fingers crossed which should increase my score ... if it doesn't get *even harder*).
Guess the only way in the meantime at the moment is to brush up on my almost forgotten school level French...
Were you hibernating for two years to even think 453 might be even remotely close to being high enough? I'll have whatever you've been smoking...

3 years of exp will get you to somewhere in the 480s range in 2023. You're gambling if you think that's going to be enough. Either learn french (and start asap: more and more people will start doing this and 500s will be commonplace, as we're seeing), or go study in Canada and get a PR for 100k CAD. Those are your two options. Not sure if optometrists are an in demand NOC anywhere, but even if they are, 453 won't cut it, plain and simple.

Most outland applications will only qualify with the 3 years of work experience, but given you already have 453 without it, you seem pretty good for a future ITA in 2023, which is not far off.

The scores will drop once the draw sizes increase, you'll be around the 480's i believe, that should be good enough.

OMG you are back
What it do babbyyyyy?

To accept an ITA, means you should have documents ready in order to apply and go to AOR. These documents are: letter of employment, proof of funds, police clearance/s, medical result, scanned copies of your passport, and more if you have a spouse/dependents. If you do not have these documents on hand, then you cannot accept the ITA.

I don't know about you, but it took me a more than a month to secure all of those documents. You have 60 days before the ITA expires.
How long is the wait after submission, what is the timeline for PPR, 6 months? when did you submit docs?

My score is 495 and I have two more week to answer the LOI from PNP Ontario.
- I don't want to pay 1500$
- I don't want to live in Ontario
I understand not wanting to live in ON cos that will be a hard decision for me as well. But the way things are going (even with you being inland), you better take that OINP or be prepared to add "I don't want to live in Canada" to your list.

A great reality check... for sure! Re-learning French as that's the only way I can really up my score at the minute (and missed a couple points on IELTs which I will probably re-do - didn't study for it as much as I wanted as I did it just before my 1 year started so I could have my profile up). Worst case will probably take a sabbatical and do some studying in Canada.
