Hi All,

I'm feeling led to create a community of new immigrants. This group has and is giving me so much, and has made me believe this world to be a better place.
Each one of us got here to help one another, this group gave me hope when I had none at all, and literally met some God sent people.

I know for many it's PPR, then COPR, and landing. But then, what? How to sustain your life in Canada? Does one need to start from scratch? How to find a job? Make a living? Everything before and everything in between.
I am not even sure if what I'm proposing is going to be a success, but it's a worth a try. We can reunite through the below group and offer support to each other even after we land.

I'm adding a link below, so you can join if you want to be part of this community.

Just my way of giving back to the community who has given me so much that not mere words can explain.

God bless you all.

Did you get any response on your GCMS request? I applied in October and still haven't received anything.
Hey! So I applied for gcms too but this what the issue is as stated by them.

We are experiencing severe delays from ATIP since July and the issuance of notes is taking between 30-270 days. ATIP which is a government entity in Canada and the only agency responsible for issuance of GCMS notes. We are following up with ATIP and will email you the notes as soon as we receive them. There is nothing wrong in your application, the delay is from ATIP.

Thanks for confirming. I got this reply

We're currently communicating with the immigration authorities about 120+ requests that are overdue since last year, including yours.
Hopefully the issue will be resolved soon, but unfortunately no ETA at this time.

Hey everyone,

What has been your experience with the amount of time it takes for the Canadian Visa Center to process your Visa approval once you submit your passport for PPR?

I submitted it more than two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything from them. I have an international trip planned for next week so I am hoping they return my passport this week.

Your input is appreciated.

Thanks,
Sireesha

Does anybody know a phone number or email to contact to see if they can expedite the process for my COPR since it has been 2.5 weeks from the time I submitted my passport after I received the PPR?

Got my COPR on 9th May 2022, had submitted the passport for stamping on 28th April.
@legalfalcon thank you for all your help and advice throughout the process!
Just One query, how can I take money from India to Canada? What would be the best possible way and is there any limit on transfer of funds? Thanks a lot!

Hi Viraj, there is no limit as to how much CAD to take... You are allowed to take up to CAD 10,000 K as cash.. any thing more is allowed but you have to declare the total amount and mention that as you are moving for PR you are shifting your funds... However you can still retain your bank balance in the existing bank where you have an account and later shift to your Canadian account once you open an account

Same. My passport was sent to VFS on April 9th and i have called VFS multiple times. They told me my passport was sent to Consulate on May 17. They indicated the process could take up to 2 -3 weeks. I really need my passport for an international trip in June so I wonder if they will be able to send back my passport by then.

The process is insanely upset.
