Well, I'll be darned. Got the card in the mail today. Here's the timeline:
Application received August 6, 2021.
Correspondence acknowledging receipt November 8, 2021
Decision Made May 10, 2022
Card sent in mail May 11, 2022
Card received in the mail May 17.

It's been a long wait. At least the expired date reflects when it was renewed, not based on the last expiry date.

Good luck everyone. Thanks for your input on this site - it helped answer some questions.

Hi any one with similar timeline?
  1. We received your application for a permanent resident card on March 30, 2022.
  2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on April 21, 2022.
  3. We started processing your application on April 21, 2022.
Mine is very similar... applied April 1st, acknowledged receipt April 30, started processing April 30. My status updated to "decision made" May 9, but it isn't reflected in the details.
Any ideas how long it will take to get our cards? Is that the next step?

Hi, it looks like my mom has to go to the IRCC office in Kipling to pick up her PR card (renewal). I'm still waiting for the email from IRCC for confirmation but does anyone know what kind of documents will one have to bring in order to pick up her PR card?

Here's my timeline in case it helps anyone.
I also forgot to include a photocopy of my expiring PR card and that made zero difference, despite people I'd seen even sending a whole seperate application once they realized they'd forgotten it. Got me a little worried but I'm proof that they don't need it at all.

1. Application received March 31, 2022.
2. AOR received April 28, 2022.
3. Started processing April 28, 2022.
4. Decision made April 29, 2022.

5. New PR Card Received May 16th, 2022.

was that your first PR ? it is news to me that you can re-submit photos online. It is always a email with a PDF letter that you need to print along with new photos and mail to a specific address.
In my email request, they have not asked to print any PDF letter? This is what I got

You must send:

New photos that meet the specifications set out in the attached document. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/new-immigrants/pr-card/apply-renew-replace/photo.html

If we do not receive the requested information within 30 days of the date above, your application for a permanent resident card will be considered cancelled.

Please note that a valid Canadian address is necessary for us to be able to send you your Permanent Resident Card.

Please submit your photograph via email attachment by responding to this message. Do not create a new message, as it will cause delays in your application.

To avoid any delays, please provide IRCC with a permanent Canadian address by accessing the on-line Address Notification service on the IRCC web site at https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=coanotify .

Should you have any questions or require assistance, please visit our website at https://www.canada.ca/en/services/immigration-citizenship.html or contact your service provider organization

Please disregard this notice if you have recently submitted new photos to our centre or have received your PR card.

Hi guys, one question.

I already completed the landing at YVR april 19th but had to leave as I still have some matters back at home. still waiting for my pr card. Do ya'll think it would be too much of a risk to travel to canada directly to YVR. I'm from a visa exempt country, so getting on an airplane to Canada is not an issue, I wonder if there would be an issue with the border officers at the airport? I know I could go to the states and drive across the border with my COPR, but I would really prefer to avoid all of that hassle of going to Seattle, renting a vehicle etc. What are your thoughts ?
I have the same issue and am tied to going through Seattle to go to a family gathering in the UK. I think the issue is the airline letting you on. Your ETA is cancelled at some point between your eCOPR being issued and your card arriving. I think (and i may be wrong) the airline are duty bound to verify your ETA before they let you board. I dont technically think YVR will have any issue with you entering, its more a matter of getting on the aircraft to get to YVR. You can check your ETA status and see if its still valid on your day of travel but theres a risk it can get cancelled at any point and its also against IRCC rules as they advise you to apply for a PRTD. This is why i am not going via YVR unless my card arrives.

I feel your dilemma, i really dont want to drive to Seatac when YVR is so easy for me.

HTH.

yep , it seems this is how they deal now with first time PR card, submitting photos online. hopefully they can extend this option to everyone. but I am renewal , that is why they asked to print the PDF letter and photos , and submit by mail .

She was asked to printout the letter , mail the letter and the photos to the address stated on the letter. We tracked the package and saw it delivered in Nova Scotia on the 27th of April.
Hi, did you use regular post to send it or did you send the photos using a special postal service (like speed post)? I got the same letter for my son. My wife's PR card was approved and mine shows "Submitted" on the express entry profile and I get the feeling I will be getting the same letter.

Yeah, I already booked my flight to Seattle and i'll have to drive across the border from there. it's such a pain, but oh well, haha.
