Reading all these posts about high housing costs, I am constantly reminded that I made a great choice coming to SK (crazy weather notwithstanding). We just bought a house (2 storey, 3 levels, 6 beds, 4 baths, 3 living areas) in the east of regina ("old money: area ) for $700k, and the realtor was saying we should wait a few more weeks and it would probably be cheaper.
The icing on the cake is that we also just got job offers from Calgary and the US (remote work) so we get to earn big metro pay whilst in Regina.
All round win. Except for the dreadful weather of course .
What did you do? I assume you did not retract your filing for mandamus?I have filed for mandamus and IRCC replied with a memo on the last day of their deadline asking to dismiss it without any concrete reasons lol, they have the time and resources to give stupid replies even to mandamus but no time actually to finalize applications. I guess mandamus doesn't work for everybody even if their application is super old, not sure WTF they are doing.
No point in doing that. Next step is a court hearing which takes months so my application was supposed to see substantial movement by now but all I received was a re-med request which will be expiring on 20th May as I already did an upfront one earlier which is yet to be updated. Security was never started for me, not sure how long they will take for that. What did you do? I assume you did not retract your filing for mandamus?

I already have a couple . You know how they say once you hit a certain number of kids, adding more just becomes easy peasy.Seeing how everyone keeps referring to you as the mother on this forum, are you interested in adopting an Indian man?
Thank you! Honestly, I don't have any idea if the application was finalized due to the Mandamus or naturally. But, I was desperate and found a lawyer whoCongratulations! All people I know who recently filed Mandamus got their PPRs, i guess it really works! Gotta file my own now

Word of warning before you start sending out your resume, be really clear that you have a pending PR application. Most companies, even the one I'm on board now, said they rarely consider applicants that need an LMIA.Understood, I think this proves that it is worthwhile to start looking for jobs before landing-I'm going to become more aggressive in my job search in Canada.
I got exactly same information from few places with which I was talking toWord of warning before you start sending out your resume, be really clear that you have a pending PR application. Most companies, even the one I'm on board now, said they rarely consider applicants that need an LMIA.
I will travel to Dublin tomorrow and I will hand them myself in VFSJust got back from getting my mugshot taken and sending the passport+photo+annexA to CPC-Ottawa.
If you're in the US and want a quick guide on how to send the passports and the return envelope to Ottawa, check out this post by @FeelTheBern Sending passport from USA to Canada | Canada Immigration Forum (canadavisa.com) (Make sure you use Fedex Lite when following the steps).
