Hi all, need some advice. HELP!!!!

I got my PR visa stamped on my old passport, however my passport is expiring in april 2023, so i am thinking to renew it before landing in canada.

Will there be a problem if i have pr visa stamped on expired passport and CoPR has old passport number?

Do i need to get my pr visa stamped again or i can travel with both old and new passport??
Your stamped Visa on your passport is for 1-time entry only when you do travel. It won't matter after your first entry into canada anyway as it will no longer be a valid travel document. You would need your PR card and your non expired passport for subsequent entries. Should you leave canada without a pr card, you would have to apply for a PRTD outside Canada, which might take months to issue...so moral of the story it would be a bad idea to leave Canada before you recieve your pr card

I am not going to come back to my home country anytime soon.
My question is, i can travel carrying two passport one expired but having valid visa and another new passport without visa.
I dont need to send my new passport for stamping again right??

Sounds like you'll be travelling before your passport expires anyway...assuming before April 2023. Why does it matter

You don't need to do anything. Enter on your stamped passport, carry your new one with you as well.

Rant o clock! 4 months and 2 weeks post adr/ false IP2. No sign of PPR.

Oh! almost Forgot AOR April 2020. Crossed 2 years...into my 3rd year now

Like sands through the hour glass...So are the days of our lives *sobs*

I wonder what Ircc wants from me
That's rough, man.

Honestly, is time is a factor for you, just get started on Mandamus. Or at least, do the initial step of the Mandamus process yourself. Send a webform demanding them to finish processing and give a decision within 30 days (mention the exact date before which they should finish as well). After 30 days, if needed, you can ask a lawyer to directly file the Mandamus notice in court.

Thanks I'll consider doing initial step...but I'll only be bluffing, a barking dog with no teeth, lmao. I can't afford a mandamus...I'll need every cent iv been blocked to use for the past 2 years to survive once I set foot in canada

@wonderbly - I am having second thoughts about Saskatoon. Everyone is warning against going to Saskatoon in winters. I have till April next year to land and everyone is saying I should wait till February-march next year to land. Do you agree?

Will life be hard if I travel by bus in Saskatoon?

I have submitted the documents IRCC asked for and it is still showing on my profile that they need additional documents. Doesn't the status change automatically after uploading docs or did my docs not upload correctly. following is the status of docs shown in my profile
  • We need additional documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.

Does it show that all the documents have been transmitted? If yes, then I too received this message for 12 hours until it changed to "Not applicable". For some it changes to We are review the document you have submitted or something similar.

Wait 24 hours and then call IRCC to check if they have received the documents. Tell them about the message.

NGL, the winter is brutal :) . Thankfully, I didn't suffer much because work/sch was mostly remote in Fall and Winter sessions and we do have a car. It doesn't last all week/month long at a stretch though, you do get some reprise between the bad snowstorms :D . My family enjoyed this winter (being our first experience of so much snow and cold) but I expect it to get old pretty quick as the novelty wears off.

Having said that, if you have an option of going elsewhere more friendly weather-wise and you can afford it, definitely do that.
