What's the quickest way to contact IRCC to let them know I will be out of the country for a few weeks? I've heard that web forms won't be read for weeks, sometimes months.

I'm only going away (on vacation) for three weeks, and there has been no progress on my application since my background check was completed in January, but you never know.
I called them and asked about that because I will go on vacation and come back find a new place to rent. Agent says everything is online now so I dont need to tell them for few weeks vacation unless at that time they might schedule oath ceremony for me. So she told me to come back, find a new place then update address after. It's just my convo with an agent. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I will call them. The likelihood of my test being scheduled while I am away is very low, but better safe than sorry!

Hello everyone,

Here is my timeline -
Applied - Sept 16
AOR - Dec 1
BG Completed - Apr 26
Test Window update - May 2
Test Window - May 6 - May 26

Here is my situation -
I need to travel out of Canada from May 27 - June 11. So not sure what is the ideal date for me to appear for the test considering below questions?
  1. Should I inform them about this short term vacation out of Canada?
  2. How long it takes to receive the Oath ceremony invitation after completing the test?
  3. How much notice period (notification ahead of time) they give for the Oath ceremony?
  4. In the worst case, if I pass the test on May 10 and receive the Oath invitation, can I attend it from out of Canada if I receive the invitation between May 26 - June 11?
  5. What would you recommend for the ideal date to appear for the test?
Thanks so much everyone! Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

Cheers!
Kimi

Hi All,

I am seeing a LOT of the members on this thread who have applied in Sep'2021 and have begun receiving their Test/Interview/Oaths - which is GREAT, I am happy to hear of this speed.

That being said, I applied in September 2021 (AOR Received Dec'21) as well, and ALL of my checks are still "In Progress," and I am slightly concerned/frustrated that my case is moving at a snail's pace with little progress thus far.

Does anyone know what IRCC prioritizes when say, selecting certain applications and progressing them ahead of or faster than other ones?

Same here. Nothing has yet began for my application even BG check as per agent 2 weeks ago. I applied online. I'll call them this week or next week to follow up to see if there is any movement . Did you apply online?

CPC-Sydney throws darts to decide which online applications they want to do background checks on and then send the files to local offices for further processing.
It's true. BG check will be done at cpc sydney and nothing has started yet for me as of 2 weeks ago when I called them

Really hope this isn't the case - but from the data it seems this is the approach they're taking.
