Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well!
I applied for student visa and while I was waiting for visa to be approved I resigned from my job as civil servant (public administration job) because of corruption and problems in work and I feel in dangerous in my country now. Now my visa is approved, is there any chance to ask for asylum in Canada, is there any documentation that I must take here that I need to show to asylum officer there? (Visa allows me to travel to Canada only after some months and I plan to move in another country to stay till the moment I can travel to Canada. I have paper that I resign from job and paper from hospital that I have lot's of anxiety because of work) I appreciate if you can provide me any information what can I do

Yes, you can ask for asylum in Canada once you arrive. Yes, you will need to have documentation and evidence that proves why you have a strong refugee case

A resignation from your job and hospitalization documentation for anxiety doesn't sound like it will be sufficient proof. You'll want to provide more and stronger evidence that you are being persecuted in your home country and that your life may be in danger.

@scylla Thank you for your response, I have last question. To be more clear: some people from government started to force me to do illegal government procedures, now I can not go to police for those people because they threatened me. If I not go to police they will not kill me but am afraid by law, if I go in police to tell everything and to be in accordance with the law am afraid of those people. So my question is: Can be a be an option to make a complaint after arriving in Canada?

You've already quitted your government job. So you are safe now even in your home country?

No am not, because they forced me to do some semi-illegal procedures and afraid by law. I left job because If I will work still there they will force me again (this is happen to my friend that is still working there).

What do you suggest me to do?
I have no idea. Gather evidence that you are in danger in your home country then. According to scylla, you will need that for your refugee claim. I am not familiar with asylum procedure.

I can't tell you if it will be possible to file a complaint with the police once you are in Canada. That will depend on your country's laws / regulations.

If you plan to file the complaint from Canada, then you would definitely want to do that before you apply for asylum. You would also want to have evidence that either shows you have been threatened earlier or evidence that shows you have been threatened as a result of filing the police complaint. You may also be required to prove that your life will continue to be in danger no matter where you move in your home country.

Good luck.
