Hi, I got an email from Cic requesting to submit IMM5406 Additional Family Information . Does the form needs to be filled out my mother (Applicant)only ? Even myself (Sponsor) needs to fill it out. Can you please help with this question as I need to reply by 17th March 2022

The form needs to be filled by your Mother (Principal applicant) and if any dependent.

Hi this is a bit off topic but i plan on sponsoring my parents this year whenever it opens but wondering which years of income will be used . Will it be 2020, 2021 n current year 2022 ? Or 2019, 2020, n 2021?

Did you get this twice as well? I already sent them the documents once in Feb. now they are requesting again!! Is that the case for you too?

I got it first time.... however the confusion is she does not have any dependent ( my wife's brother is 27, cannot consider him dependent).
Am I suppose to just fill the 5406 for her mother ... is that correct??

Yes they have mentioned the name of my mom as she is the principal applicant but the email was sent to me. So it's sort of confusing with the wording that they have used in IMM 5406. Should I also fill the form or it will be only my mom ?

Oct 04, no updates. Unfortunately, there is no order to follow. Someone applied in December has already received biometric, medical request and sponsorship approved. Someone applied very early (like us, in October) has nothing, it all depends on when case worker assigned start to check the application. The only indicator which we can tell whether our application make any progress is Ghost Email. Let’s wait for it.

Yes the exact same wording as your letter. My sister and I are no longer dependant on my mom so we don't have to fill out Imm 5406, is that right?

Here is my family (parents) sponsorship status & timeline, so far.

1. Application submitted via online portal is Nov 9, 2021

2. Received ghost email from cic updated the program & category (it was blank at the time of submission) - Jan 14, 2022

3. Linked application in ircc (gc key) - Feb 01, 2022
(For linking application in gc key used primary applicant first name, last name. Date of birth, passport details, place of visit in canada, no of ppl is 4)

4. Current application status is submitted both in gc and portal - Feb 02, 2022.

5. Received BioMetric request for both parents on Mar 09, 2022.

6. Received sponsorship approval letter electronically on Mar 14 2022

It says “for the Principal Applicant and all dependents aged 18 and over, whether accompanying or not” you will need to consider your wife’s brother too I think.. I filled it out only for my parents the first time. Now they have asked mine too.. I’m over 18 and not their dependent, and not accompanying them( as I am already in Canada) but still they are asking me to fill additional info form for myself. Better safe than getting this request twice like me I think

What was the wording? First time I got this request I sent only my parents but I got the request again asking for my additional family info too. Better fill yours as well

Yeah its just your mom who has to fill the form... and get it signed ... mention your and your sister name in section - B (for children)
