Worke permit near to expire what should I can do..:(

Hello All,

Currently I am on PGWP Work permit. My work permit expire in March 2015.
I do not know what to do for extension or PNP.

I compeleted m study in Ontario after that I move to Calgary and Now BC.
But no luck.

I am very fed up with this.

Please post your suggestion.

I donot want to go back India.

Hi Taral,

Can you elaborate further about your situation. Usually people apply for CEC after gaining required 1 year work experience under PGWP. That's a route for them to continue staying in Canada permanently. Are you eligible for this? If you do not have the required work experience, then PNP can be an option, for e.g. for Ontario, they have the Master's stream and Phd stream, where you have to study further.

If you are eligible to apply for PR under CEC you can do so now. Once you receive your Acknowledgement of Receipt, you can apply for a Bridging Open Work permit while your PR application is being processed. You can apply for a BOWP if you have a work permit due to expire within 4 months so in your case, you would be apply to apply for one between Dec 2014 and March 2015 as long as you have you AOR.

Because I have only one yr PGWP but I do not have 1 yrs of Canadian Experence

You can not extend a PG work permit but you can apply for a regular work permit if your employer gets an LMIA/LMO for you. You can read up on that here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

They would have to advertise the job, they would have to be offering market wage and it should be a skilled position. If they can prove that no PR or Canadian wanted or was qualified for the job, you can apply for a work permit. This work permit would then allow you to get the experience to apply under CEC.

As for the BC PNP, you would have to look at the PNP and see if there is an immigration class there that you would qualify under. http://www.welcomebc.ca/Immigrate/About-the-BC-PNP.aspx
