I was interviewd by a well knowm company. They however, want me to apply for a Work Permit. From the CIC site I understand that only once i have received a job offer from the prospective company, I can apply for a work permit. Is that right? Or is there anything that I am missing??? Pl. advice...

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

You need a LMO (Labour Market Opinion) first before you apply a work permit. Your employer is the one who should provide a LMO for you :)

To the best of my knwoledge,i think you would need LMO in order to apply for work permit.I would suggest you ask your prospective employer to help you to get one as they know and not new in the business.

Aside,go on the www.cic.gc.ca to read more on some job that require and some that do not require LMO.With this, you will be able to find out where you belong.I hope this help.
