Work permit decision taking longer than designated time

I submitted a work permit application on July 26, 2019, after I entered Canada on a visitor visa. As per the CIC website, it was mentioned that it takes 8 weeks to finalize the decision on the work permit application. However, it has been more than three months that I have yet not received a response from CIC. Has anyone been through the same situation?

don't worry about it , the processing time on IRCC is only an estimate. right now the current process is taking almost 4 months.
