Withdrawal of open work permit

Hello,
So I applied for spousal open work permit from the US as my husband will be starting his studies early January in Toronto. He already got it study permit. We booked flights from end of December. I already have a visit visa for Canada. Should I withdraw my sowp, go to Canada on visit visa and then apply for sowp from within Canada? Because I can’t stay in US alone for long and wait for my sowp.
Withdrawing an application doesn’t affect future applications, right?

No need to withdraw it since you already have a valid visiting visa. Use the visiting visa to enter Canada with your husband and allow the SOWP to be counting on. Once you re inside Canada, and time has elapsed a little, send them web forms.

And I won’t be able to enter US to get it stamped. So what happens if I don’t get it stamped? Will my visit visa still be valid?
