Which Visa Office?!

Hi everybody
My wife wants to sponsor me, we’ve been married for 5 years now. We’ve been living in the USA for 4 years because I have a work permit, but now we want to go to Canada and start a new life there, I’m from Mexico, so my question is where will they sent my Application if we sent it from here? Will they sent it to Mexico? Every proof and document we’ve got is from USA except our marriage certificate but we can sent a translation, please help!

I have heard that if your visa in the United States is valid for more than 1 year from the day CIC receives your application, they process it in Canada just like an US citizen or PR. Assuming you have a valid H1B visa.

Completely up to the discretion of the visa officer looking at your file but in our case my partner had been living in the US for the past 6 years (school + work visa combined) and the app ended up being processed by Mississauga/Ottawa instead of Mexico. Our notes indicated that he was R11 based on valid and legal status in country of residence. Hope that helps!

IRCC can choose between the VO of the country of citizenship or the VO of the country of residence. The vast majority of the time, they choose the VO of citizenship. It may go to Ottawa but there is a higher chance of it going to the Mexico VO.

Why would I tell him this if i do not know? im in the exactly same situation as him. I have stayed in US for almost 8 years and im not American, they still transferred me to Missisagua. They do not really transfer application to Ottawa anymore, very rare. instead they transfer them to Missaisagua VO. Right now mostly CIC transfer your application based on your residence, especially he has already stayed in US for 4 years with work permit, im pretty sure they will transfer him to Missisagua VO to process. Read the outland spreadsheet please.

Your experience in no way means that OP's app will be transferred there, so it is irresponsible to outright state that as fact. Explain your statement as your personal experience as canadiantica15 did.

Well like i said, read the outland spreadsheet 2017 after May before you came to tell me "dun post if i do not know" , #1 there is definitely higher chance for him to transfer to Mississagua rather than Mexico based on his case. #2 If you read the spreadsheet you will know there is literally rare case to transfer to ottawa anymore. They have changed the vo to Mississagua. You are just giving wrong ideas, dun post if you do not know what has been updated right now.
