When to apply for study permit under SPP (from India)?

Hi,

I have secured admission in Centennial for the Fall 2017 intake. When should I apply for my study permit? I've been told that applying for the study permit too early could lead to rejection. Is that true? When would be the ideal time to apply? Would be great if someone could let me know.

Others can comment but do not think is ever to early to apply especially as only 4/5 months away from when you would probably want to land in the country. Obviously applying in 2016 for fall 2017 might be an issue but not I think April for fall 2017.

Processing time as well varies and although quotes 5 weeks currently could be a couple of months no way to know as some people have faced longer times especially if there are questions on the application. By the time you get all your documents in place and submitted in April it could even be begin June before you get an approval no way to know. Ultimately your decision when to submit, you could wait a few more weeks but for sure do not leave it too late.
