When is E-CAS initially updated?

Hello,

I am applying for my wife in Hong-Kong office. The application has an outside Canada status since I was not permanent resident when we submitted application.

In any case I am a little bit concerned because I don't see any updates on the E-CAS website. I would like to know when within the overall application process should we expect to see the updated status on the site.

Also I understand the application process might take a while, however we haven't received any letter acknowledging documents or start of process from the Hong Kong office. I just want to make sure this is completely normal.

As I understand it the overall process in Hong Kong office should start once they received approval from Quebec provincial jurisdictions.

Application delivered to CIC on 17th of March 2010.
Letter of acceptance from CIC issued on 18th of May 2010.
Documents delivered with letter of acceptance to the MICC (province of Quebec only) on 8th of July 2010.
Selection certificate issued from MICC on 22nd of August 2010.

E-Cas is usualy updated when they open your application, or the letter for sponsership approval has been sent if your chekcing it from your Recipt #. Once you get yoru AOR you can use your File # to check as well. for me my Recipt shows my address and info, and file # shows my wifes address and email. as well as the same results.

Thanks for answering.

I already received the letter of approval a few months ago, yet I can't see anything on E-CAS. What would you do in this case?

I tried many times either with my receipt or client number. I would be more then happy to see a 'in-process' like everyone seems to have.

Although the article mentions about different updates I could not find anyone mentioned when was their first update initially available.

For me, thru the Buffalo office it updated the first time sometime between 10pm on a Saturday night and 8am on Sunday morning. My husband was approved for sponsorship that Friday prior (as in 2 days earlier).

Are you using the sponsors information for the receipt information and client id? I wasn't sure what to use at first myself.

i had the same problem and i signed up for e-cas tracker with matthew c. i just kept getting so disappointed trying to log on. so i gave up and now i hope when something happens, i will get an email. hubby got sponsorship approval in july and its been months for me too. hang in there.
