When do we get 1st GIC credit? And other questions

1. When do we get our first GIC credit?
2. How much cash do we need to carry while going to Canada?
3. Do we need to show any proof of accommodation at the POE?
4. What do we carry in that 23 kg + 23 kg bags? To be exact.

When u reach canada go to a branch of nova scotia bank and show them ur gic papers and passport with study permit thn ur gic deposit will b transfered to ur accnt and u will b able to use it.!

You can carry any amount of cash that you think is required for you to live befr your gic account gets activated. But if it is more than $10000 then u will hve to declare it at the airport. Though $1000 is enuff.!

In those bags u should carry clothes accrding to the season here and other thngs from home which you may require during ur stay.!

And you do not hve to show that whr u r goin to libe at port of entry

As mentioned earlier, you can carry $1000 in cash for your use until to get your credit card and GIC cash.
W.r.to GIC, you won't be given the whole $10000 in one go. Instead you'd get $2,000 every two months (5 periods). So plan your spending accordingly. Hope this information was useful
