Theoretically CRA considers you as resident till you sever ties with Canada and are responsible to report world income on tax returns.
I believe this assumption is for two years even though you don't have physical presence.

I am not a tax professional my above knowledge is based on reading I did on web.

So long as you maintain direct primary ties to Canada (unrented house, furniture, family, active bank accounts, etc.), you are deemed to be a resident for tax purposes and must declare and pay taxes on your global income.

Expats who maintain close ties with Canada must file tax forms annually and pay Canadian taxes on their worldwide income. Credit is given for any taxes paid to the 93 countries that have tax treaties with Canada to prevent double-taxation.
