Hi there,

My wife and I got PR and landed in 2012. After staying for a month, we returned and continued my job in KSA. So far I could not find a suitable job there and I am not willing to take a risk of leaving my current job and go there without any job offer. Since we are running out of time, we were thinking that my wife should move there and start living on full time basis while I will continue my job here. My question is what if my wife fulfills the two year stay requirement and I do not; will they renew the PR for her or she will be rejected since I am the principal applicant of the family?

Thanks.

Your wife's PR is her own. It is not tied to yours now.

So she can certainly stay in Canada to maintain her RO, and renew her PR card when it expires.

If you stay outside Canada after your wife settles back in Canada, then you run the risk of being discovered for not meeting RO, and having your own PR status revoked. In this case your wife will still keep her own PR status, and can then even sponsor you again for PR under family class.
