Walk in for passport applications at Service Canada

Hello, we applied June 24th at Service Canada Centre on 700 Queenston Rd, Hamilton.
We got there around 9 am and left at 11 am. There were 7 people before us, they told us we will have passports mailed out August 23th ( hope we will get them by August 29th )
But first we went over night at 1am to the Upper James Service Canada Passport Office waiting for 8 hours and in the morning a lady turned us away because we did not have a travel date.

Did you walk in since you had urgent travel? Can I walk in for 46 business days or more requirements as well?
