The correct photo specs for PR cards are 50mm x 70mm, see here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf. Your link refers to visa applications.

Just few additional tips:

1. make sure the photo is in mat finish not glossy
2. make sure your face is in the center of the photo frame unlike indian passport photo
3. when photo studio uses it's stamp, it might be possible the ink could stick and spoil on other photo you send so ensure it's not sticky. It could be hand-written too.
hi i have a question , now upon landing we had old photos on our COPR papers , and we showed the officer the new photos , what she did is she took off the old photos and sticked the new ones on the papers , then she said it doesnt matter what u write on the photo coz the glue will ruin the ink anyway and that actually what happened with our photos when she sticked them , she only took 1 photo and sticked it on not 2 , also our photos were glossy finished not mat like the old ones and she said nothing abt that , now im worried if we will get photo resubs for all of us :-\ :-\

Hi ain08,

I am sorry for your issue and I hope you will get your card soon.
Could you please share with us the email which you received from CIC??
I just need to know the photo size is it different from the which was requested from Abu Dhabi visa office at the time of passport request.
Waiting for your advice
Hi EngMostafa, yes the new photo requirement is 50mm x 70mm.

Based on the few forums I am monitoring, if 58 days (current CIC Processing Time) +/- 7 days, you didn't receive your PR card, mostly likely you will receive a photo request. True to my part. I landed April 08. Some guys who landed April 09 received their PR card but I didn't. Then yesterday, I received that photo request.

I did used Flash photo studio - near national cinema - behind kanoo bldg. -near to fatima bin mubarak st/ hamdan st crossing .

However as such photograph size and specs matter - not the photo studio.

and DHL office i used was marina mall one - in fact DHL courier guys comes up to your location to pick up.
Thank you Rpanchal. I did take the photo on the same studio and I will send it tomorrow through DHL. I appreciate all your help and answers.

Hello Everyone,

My wife landed on April 7th in Calgary at the CIC office. That is 60 days ago from today and we have not yet received her PR card,

We called today to inquire about the status and the lady informed us that the application/file was sent to "production" on June 7th.

We are anxious to receive the card due to upcoming travel and wonder what 'production' means? How long are we from actually receiving the card? Can anyone help? (It will be mailed to an address in Alberta)

The agent mentioned this was the last stage, but said this could take until July 19, but may arrive sooner. We are confused about the terminology and are stressed as we need the card earlier than July 19.

Thank you for your help and have a great day!

Hi, I'm sure you will receive it before July 19th. Probably in a week or so from now. The officer is just counting the average days from June 7th. She probably doesn't know much about the real timeline, she is just following the numbers on the screen in front of her. But worse comes to worst you have to wait another 4 weeks. Don't stress out much, not worth it. Also you can always call a second time to double check with another agent. CIC call centre agents are known for their inconsistent answers.

By the way is the option for checking the PR card process taken out from ECAS? In my days (2 years ago) I could see the process. IE in process, printing & sent.

Best of luck,

Thank you for the response. No I have checked ECAS and they don't update it anymore it seems, at least on mine.

My wife received a job offer today and they require the PR card by early July... which puts us in a bind. For whatever reason, they absolutely require a PR Card photocopy to be employed. This is why we are stressed out... We are 1 week past due and the officer said it could be another 6 weeks which would jeopardize her potential job

Hi guys,

My PR card finally came. Landed Jan 10th, called CIC April 5th and had photo re-submit request. Received in Sydney April 8th.
Received PR card May 17th, little over a month later.

I happened to be in Mexico when the PR card came so on re-entry to Canada on Sunday I had to come in with just my passport and COPR. I never got asked for an ETA (although I understand it's all been delayed now) but I was travelling through the states which is maybe more lax about it.
When I got to immigration in Vancouver the border guy (who was super friendly) mentioned I should have a PRTD but was not that bothered about it. I am from a visa-waiver country which probably helped.

The will probably be one of my last post now the ordeal is finally over. Thanks to this site as usual! So helpful.

I'm new to this thread, sorry if this question was asked before
But does it make any difference if you land at the border or CIC office in terms of how many days you wait for PR card?
