well i already sent my passport. So , now there is nothing I can do. Lets hope they stamp the passport without the pictures.

1- Send pictures anyways... They will ask for it again again again. (happened to me)

2- If you do your landing and leave country without PR card, you should come back with a private car. For flights you will need visa... or the card. But if you have sometime right after landing send an inquiry and required documents to CIO - NS for fast processing. They provide that. Thats what I will do as well.

I think I was not clear on point 2. My question is that whether I can use the PR visa that will be stamped on my passport to fly back into canada as I am planning to out of the country as soon as I get my passport back from CIC. As per my understanding immigrants who apply for Canadian immigration from outside canada would fly to canada with the PR visa stamped on their passport and perform landing at the airport where they would be provided with COPR. Can someone confirm this please?

You will receive both your passport (with one time entry visa stamped in) and COPR by mail. So if you travel abroad, you can definitely land on your way back to Canada.

They would not ask your passport in case you are from visa exempt country. Otherwise they ask for your passport in order to issue single-entry immigrant visa regardless of your current country of residence. And you will be provided with CoPR in any case.

OK. Got you now. as long as you know that Permanent Resident visa is a single use, one time only visa....

But you can drive back and forth between US with your completed COPR as much as you want...

Hi, I sent my passport on March 10th and CIC received it on 12th March. I got my passport back on 17th March with visa stamped on it. Best wishes for you. Lets hope for the best...
