I'm a TFW who is working in Alberta for 3 yrs now. I heard from someone that another foreign worker brought her kids here in AB, and there all studying for free and recieving allowance from the government. Is there any thruth on this?

If yes, how to do this since I have an 11 yr old daughter in the Philippines and I wanted to bring her here. Please enlighten me and help me.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If your occupation is skilled, your spouse and children can apply to join you. Your spouse can get an open work permit and your children can go to school. A TFW who has been in Canada for 18 months or longer can get child tax benefit for their kids.

However, if your occupation is low skilled, you have no claim to having your family join you. If your spouse wants to come and work, they would have to have their own LMO and work permit and if your children want to go to school, you would need study permits for them and you would probably have to pay high fees for their tuition.
