Hi All,

I would immensely appreciate if someone could aid me in calculating my total physical presence in Canada. My work related trip to Europe made things a little complicated. Here is my situation.
  1. I became an immigrant on Oct 1, 2015 and never left Canada until July 16, 2016.
  2. On July 16, 2016 (Canada time), I traveled to Denmark and landed on July 17, 2016 (Denmark time).
  3. On July 17, 2016 (Denmark time), I took a train to just cross the border and be in Sweden for a month. I reached Sweden the same day, on July 17, 2016 (Sweden time).
  4. After one month, on August 14, 2016 (Sweden time), I took the same train back to Denmark and reached Denmark the same day, on August 14, 2016 (Denmark time).
  5. I stayed in Denmark for one day and flew for Canada on Aug 15, 2016 (Denmark time).
  6. I reached Canada on August 15, 2016 (Canada time).
Whew! So, how do I incorporate all that on the physical presence calculator online that says, "If you visited more than one country during the same absence, list the first country in 'Destination' and list the other countries in the 'Reason' field." ?

How many distinct fragments should I put in the list of countries visited?

If I were you, I'd state absence dates as July 16, 2016 to August 15, 2016 and Country as Sweden. In the reason field, you have 400 characters to explain the situation. I'd write as I reached Denmark on July 17 and took train to Sweden and stayed for XX days in Sweden. On return journey, I traveled to Denmark and flew back to Canada.

In the physical calc put local dates & times when you crossed Canadian border control.

In the Destination field put Denmark. In the Reason field put “business trip to Denmark and Sweden”.

One line - short, and sweet.

Thank you both. I quite appreciate. That's a good idea. The reason field! It let's me explain my situation. Previously, I was thinking the reason field would be for only one word: the name of a country, apart from the destination country, but I overlooked the idea that it has space for me to tell a story. Thanks!

Where you in Canada before Oct 1, 2015?

Note:
Oct 1, 2015 to today = 924

Your 2016 trip was about 30 days

As you should know, you need at least at least 1,095 days in the five years immediately before the date of your application.

I was in my home country before Oct 1, 2015. Yes, thanks for pointing out but I am aware that I am still not eligible to apply. I need to wait at least until Nov, 2018. I will make it more relaxed and I hope to apply in early 2019 because I know, in December, there will be hardly any activities at IRCC offices as everyone will be in a festive mood.
