Hi,

I'm Canadian and I want to sponsor my Paraguayan wife to come to Quebec with me. Are application is almost finished and we intend to send it out next week. Online, I noticed a change of our visa processing center from Buenos Aires to Mexico City. The visa processing time for Buenos Aires is/was 13 months and the time for the Mexican processing center is 16 months.
I'm inclined to think that the processing time for us will now be 16 months, as we haven't submitted our application yet. However, they still show the visa processing time for Buenos Aires on the CIC website. Have they not taken it down yet? Is there still a chance our visa processing time will still be 13 months?

If anybody has any experience with this, that would be great! Even you you want to throw forth conjectures, that'd be great too!

Thanks,

Tyler

It can take around 1 year for a visa office to be removed from the processing times list, since they may continue to process applications already received before the date specified.

Also those times are NOT average times, they are more worst case times for 80% of the applications. Majority of apps are done in quicker than what is posted on CIC site. Best to check in the thread dedicated to your visa office, to see people's actual times.

I concur with Rob-TO, looking through various threads can help; it's clear that CIC posted times are a case of "under promise". Example: It appears that most JULY 2013 applicants with VO-Manila (same as my wife's) are getting their passport requests now, meaning they may likely have their visas by end May .... i.e. about 9/10 months max vs. the 14 months for Manila posted on CIC. And that may even improve, based on the fact that processing times seemed better before the recent strikes in CIC offices. If I may add: focus on your application, that it is organized, clear, complete and just get it in! Destiny (and your vigilance of course) will take it from there ;)
