Visa Approval :/

Hello,

I don't think my visa is going to be approved by the time my flights are scheduled to enter Canada. I have been informed that that is okay and to just enter as a visitor.

However, in order to reinstate my visa once it has hopefully been approved, do I then need to exit the country and re-enter?
