There are only 'walk-ins' any Tuesday or Thursday (as long as it's not a holiday-check the canadian embassy in Austria site) and be there for 8:30am (again check the site for hours of operation). There are no appointments. You are told to drop it off and come pick it up at 3pm the same day. This is what I was told by another member that got their PR this way :)

bobbi hi :))))

One gentlemen pointed something out to me......
Since we live in Bosnia, and someone else (LuckyRain) if you come across this....help...nowhere in our email does it say we can come directly to vienna and get it same day. If it says send it to IOM Sarajevo and they forward it to Vienna by DHL, do we have to do it the way its said, or can we still drop it off in viena and get it same day? i am sooooo lost......time is ticking and im more confused.

Anyone can do it, regardless if you are from Bosnia or other countries processed by Vienna
Sending it through IOM was suppose to make it easier for you, I guess it didn't in your case

Yes , you are right. i got email from them and they never mentioned that I can go in person( I guess b/c of the IOM services here), But I emailed them and asked if I can come in person , and they responded that is OK too, if I prefer that. I actually mailed mine passports too, not thru IOM, and I got them back next week(thru IOM again, but that was OK), :) Good luck ppl. just do not give up :D

IOM is ok, if its there to help us, or make things easier.... first we mailed the passport to the address in email to Sarajevo, then they forwarded it, tracked the passport, but embassy claimed they never recieved (by tracking num it arrived i vienna may 14) on may 16th i got in contact with vienna who said that they didn't recieve it yet. My thoughts were, maybe they're busy and didn't get to it just yet.but deffinety going to go in person.....

thanks lucky rain, and lonely2011..

Hi,

I was recently deported from Canada over DUI and my wife wants to sponsor me back (have 2 kids together). I realize I need ARC to return. Does anyone know what's the realistic average processing time fro issuance of PR visa and ARC in Vienna? How hard it is to obtain ARC in Vienna?

Any advice is greatly appreciated...

I'm not sure if any one is still updating the Vienna spreadsheet. However, my spouse received his AOR from Vienna today, June 4, 2012.
Thanks

There is no problem getting ARC through Vienna when you come to that point in process. Normally, in spousal sponsorship cases they would ask for submission of ARC fee payment when they are about ready to give you your visa, which means that they believe your marriage is genuine and are done with checking your background/criminality record. My case was previously failed refugee claimant with no criminal record, and ARC was signed 3 days upon Vienna received proof of ARC fee payment. Pretty smooth.
But, in your case it could take longer to get to the point when they would request ARC since, if I am not mistaking, DUI goes to your criminal record. If so, I recommend you better get a good lawyer to assist you!

So i wrote to Vienna and asked them if they got my re-done medicals.,
and new new police certificate. And they wrote me back that they are still waiting for my "pending medicals" but will be calling me for 2nd interview. Any experience with all this.?

Thanks Bobbi and Gost for your replies.

Wow that certainly was pretty smooth and I'm glad I'm applying through Vienna too because it seems processing times are shorter than opposed to other visa offices. Regarding the criminality, unfortunately at this point we will not be able to hire legal representation for financial reasons. It is my understanding though, after reading info about inadmissibility on the internet, that I should first apply for a TEMPORARY RESIDENT PERMIT before my visa and ARC can even be considered. Apparently, TRP would overcome inadmissibility and my application will continue for processing accordingly. Any thoughts on this?
