Hi Tiger007,

I have read a lot of your posts which are seriously informative in context.
As you know a week back, Quebec has changed the laws.
And I am worried about that.

Actually I am currently enrolled for M.Eng (Software Engg) in Concordia for Fall 13.
And have IT experience of 4.5+ years. So should I think of moving to any other province as I am seriously concerned about PR ??
As for PEQ now, B2 is compulsory, do you still suggest for Quebec (as seen in previous posts, U have always suggested for Quebec)

Please reply

If you have 2 years full time study, you will get 3 years work permit 8) . And answer to second question is that you can change your course to 2 year graduate course but if you have only one year visa on your passport then you have to file an application to extend your study visa. :) Hope these answers clarify your query.

Hello All,

Please evaluate my profile below:-

I will apply for Jan,14 intake under SPP Category. But I am not able to search any good course for myself which can satisfy my profile and future goals.
My profile:-

B.TECH (Computer Science)- 74%
Work Experience- 2 yrs as Software Engineer in INFOSYS Technologies
Multiple Project awards at Undergraduation

IELTS- 7 Bands ( R-7.5, L-7.5, S- 6.5 , W-6.0)
GRE -303
TOEFL - 96

I really liked the course -Information Systems Business Analysis in George Brown College, Toronto and it do satisfy my career goals.
But this course is for 1 year and hence i will get 1 yr post study work permit :(
How can i manage this? This can hamper my future Job and PR chances as well :(
If i began my second one year program just after this, will I get 1 yr or 2 yr Work permit ?

Since this is Jan intake , so courses are limited in many colleges. Moreover , I don't feel any other college under SPP satisfies my needs and profile.
I CANNOT APPLY TO ANY UNIVERSITY IN CANADA DUE TO UNAVAILABILITY OF GOOD FINANCIAL DOCS AND ITR of my family.

Please guys help me out. I already serving my last month in Infosys. Can this harm my VISA chances?

Please suggest me some good course and college.
Thanks in Advance

Hi,

Quebec has changed laws regarding Skilled workers applying through regular mode. It will not affect those applying under PEQ or Programme de l'expérience québécoise (Québec experience program) route. Under this like before, you must have a minimum 1800 hours recognized Quebec course OR a Bachelor's, a Master's (min 1 year) or above + minimum B1 level/level 3/intermediate level DELF French proficiency to apply for CSQ and PR. So, Do not worry. B2 and new rules such as quota applies to regular skilled workers. It does not apply to those looking to get CSQ/PR under PEQ or Programme de l'expérience québécoise (Québec experience program). The current rules + new list of Area of training (which will come out on or after 1st Aug 2013) will affect those students looking to apply under regular points based program.

So stick to Quebec, learn till B1 level French (1 year of regular part time study enough to gain proficiency till B1 level), and apply for CSQ under PEQ or Programme de l'expérience québécoise (Québec experience program).

See Quebec Graduate -requirements. Rules are same for you. B1 level + Master's degree required. Best and still the easiest way to get PR in Canada.

Hope it helps.

Best of Luck

I just wanted to point out that the information you are referring to concerning the language requirements is the old rule that will get expired as soon as 31 July. The new rules are the following:

If you submit an application under the Programme de l'expérience québécoise (Québec experience program):
the level of knowledge of oral French will be increased:
If you choose de demonstrate your level of knowledge of French by means of a standardized test, the level required will now be advanced intermediate.
If you choose to demonstrate your level of knowledge of French by means of your education, you must have completed a minimum of three years of secondary or post-secondary studies in French.

Thank you for pointing it out. Indeed, now DELF B2/higher intermediate/ level 4 French proficiency is required, starting 1st Aug. 2013, even those applying for CSQ directly as Quebec graduate.
