I have a valid tourist visa until July 2024 on a (now) expired passport and I have a new passport.
Accidentally, I reapplied for a tourist visa to start from May 2024 with my new passport. The decision for this has not yet come through. As you can see, there is an overlap in the duration -- previous visa is valid until July and I have asked for a new visa starting April.
I am playing out multiple scenarios in my head:
1. The new visa application will be refused/denied and I will still be able to travel to Canada until July.
2. The new visa will be accepted. The old visa will then automatically expire.
In the second case, what will happen if I am already in Canada when the decision arrives - say, I land in Canada in June and the acceptance decision comes in July. I won't be able to pick up my new visa from the consulate office in my home country because I will already have been in Canada.
