Hi,

In August I expect to receive ITA.

I think I need to get US Criminal Record Check. Question is about fingerprints. I live in Canada. Do I need to go to Police station to get it done there?

Is it really taking so long? Is there a chance that I can go to the US and do it at one of their offices to speed up this process?

thanks

You can probably go to a police station to have it done, or order a kit and do it yourself. Going to the US and doing it there won't speed anything up other than the transit time.

If I went to a police station here in Canada with downloaded FBI Fingerprints form would it be fine? Do they need somehow mark on this form that they did it?

What do you mean by suggesting

If you can get your fingerprinting done from a US fingerprinting technician your chances of getting the fingerprinting form rejected decrease. If you are in Canada, you can find the closest US fingerprinting technician, they are usually there at all police stations and will do the finger printing for you on the FD 258 (FBI Finger Printing card). Find the one nearest to you.

Alternatively, you can go to this place and get it done https://www.fingerscan.ca/fbi-clearance/

Never used it, but they seem to be legitimate and not very expensive.

This will ensure that your fingerprints are accurate and are not rejected.

You can then mail this to FBI at the CJIS division by following the instructions here: https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/identity-history-summary-checks

There is no way to expedite the process.
