Urgent: Is Experience Letter (for 5 months Training as a Trainee) required for Study Permit Application?

I graduated in June 2022 and I worked as a Trainee in my field of study from Aug 2022 to Jan 2023. I have my training appointment Letter and bank statements but would these be sufficient? My employer is not agreeing to provide an experience letter as I left the job to prepare for my study permit application. If I do not provide the experience letter but if visa officer requests it in the future, I will have to undertake the hassle of sending a legal notice to my employer and then explain it to the visa officer

Should I rather not mention this training in my application and show a gap of 5 months?
If I do mention this training, would the appointment letter and bank statements showing payment from my employer suffice?
