upfront medical

Hi, guys. As you can see my timeline, I still haven't gotten any updates whatsoever since I found out I was one of the victims of the glitch in the system. ( I never got a message requesting Schedule A and PCC, and had to send my documents via mail and uploaded them thru IRCC webform.)
But there has been no sign of them being received or not.

How long did it take you guys with the same issue to have any updates?

And also,
I haven't gotten any request for medical exam yet and I was wondering if there is anybody who did the medical before they request it.
My husband and I really want to try to have a baby, and I don't want to take a chance to get pregnant before I do the medial, which will delay our process even longer.
So I made an appointment with a doctor next week, and just wanted to double check if it would be ok to do it up-front.

Is there any of you who did the medical after you submitted your app, but before they request it?
Or should I wait a bit longer til they send the request?

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately you have to wait for medicals to be requested in order to send it now. They send you a specific form you take to the doctor which you both fill out and they send it directly back to immigration. You're still well within timeframe. Simply keep checking your ecas to make sure you're not missing any requested documents and you'll be alright.

You cant do the medical without the official request from cic. Sorry for the bad news

As of december 7th you cant anymore. People were able too until a certain date and now cant. The process has changed since you submitted. As has the application

As of Jan 2017 the rule for medicals changed you now require the email request from CIC

Also, I was wondering how much it cost you. I made an appointment in Saint John, NB and they said $200 for the panel physician and $ 354 for blood and x-ray.
It's way more than I thought it was gonna cost me.

Any panel physician can charge what they wish.. Thats usually the price mentioned around a Saint John. However, are you still planning on doing it without waiting for immigration to request it?

I'm not sure if I will or not. I know you can use the upfront medical to remove conditions on your OWP.
So I thought maybe CIC will use it for my PR process too.
I think I'll do some more research and contemplate a bit longer.
