Type of visa and duration required before applying FSW programme

Hi,

One of my friend is applying for FSW programme from Uk and his current work visa end in six month. he thinks he might not be able to extend it. what happens if after applying he goes back to his home country? is there any visa duration requirement? or can he apply from UK and follow up his application like back home?

If he has to go back to home country after 6 months, better he apply from his country.
If his visa office is same for both countries, he can now apply but give his address of home country and mention on the covering letter about moving to home country when the current visa expire.
