Hi Everyone,

I became a permanent resident recently and I have to leave country before my PR card arrives. When I went through the checklist to apply for PRTD, they have mentioned to give two proofs permanent residency, one would be COPR what can be the other proof?

I have read through lot of topics but couldn't find an answer. I would be grateful if somebody can help me out.

Thanks.

Social Insurance number? Drivers License from a Canadian Province? Health Care number?
Can you give me the link where it states it?

This is the official link and it does not state anything about drivers licence or health card:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp

Maybe it is specific to the country where you are currently residing? What's the name of the country?

There is no link, however if you look at other government site for ID requirements, they list DL, Health cards, Bank statements with a Canadian address, rental agreements and even your home country passport....

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/apply/documents-identity.asp

http://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=vot&dir=ids&document=index&lang=e

What country are you in right now?

Check the link that I have posted before and see if that helps.

Hi there, I had exactly the same issue as you. Landed in Canada and then had to leave before my PR card was ready. When I applied for my PRTD all I had was my COPR.

I applied for my PRTD in Hong Kong and wrote a covering letter explaining that I only have the COPR and no other document due to the fact I had not relocated yet. I received my PRTD without any issues.

So best advice I have is to write a cover letter explaining why you only have one item to prove PR, you should be fine.
