My husbands Visa expires in April. We had planned for me to sponsor him to be here, but I have yet to find a full time job. I have a teaching degree, but it is useless here, as there are twice as many teachers as there are teaching jobs in PEI. My husband has a good job, and his boss does not want to loose him, but applying for a visa extension might not be an option if we have to do another Labor Market Opinion Survey. If I read things correctly, his job qualifies for the Canadian Experience Class..... "0651 Other Services Managers" Come April, he will have worked there for 2 years, and full time. Do you think it is worth forking out the cash and applying?

If you are right about the NOC, you can apply. But that won't help you stay if your visa expires, because it takes 6 months or more to process. Your husband's employer will still have to get another LMO for him to renew his TWP. But if you get PR, it will be the last time you have to apply for an LMO / TWP.

I can imagine...

Another thing you should look into is the Provincial Nomination Program. It's a 2 stage application process - first you have to get approved by the province, then apply for PR.. In some provinces / some types of nominees, you get a TWP after the 1st stage (nomination by the province).

Look into it, you might be able to deal with both the temporary & permanent issues with one program...
