I applied for a TRV renewal inside Canada as a "family".
So basically you'll have to do it one by one to get the right document (IMM5257). When both parents are workers (work permit) is easy, but still a separate application. For the kids (student permit), it will ask for an Education transcript (which is basically a report card from school), a next-term enrolment (I asked the school for an Office Index card), and proof of means (where I added my employment letter and my last 3 paystubs).
And doing that I got our passports with the visa stamped within 15 days. And doing this you avoid getting the IMM5708 document which is not what you're looking for.
