TRV extension outside Canada!

Hi,

I have a valid study permit, but due to some problems I had to withdraw from my program and come back. Now, I have plans to pursue studies again in Jan 2015. My issue is that my TRV is valid till end of Sep 2014 only, so should I apply for extension of my TRV now itself or wait and apply for new TRV? I have admission of Jan 2015 semester and valid study permit till 2016.
Kindly shed some light !

The only experience I've had is that once you get a TRV they are pretty easy with extensions,within reason. A first extension shouldn't be a problem and if it gets rejected, there are no barriers to you applying for another one from scratch. They are also, I think, cheaper and faster to process.
