When my wife sent her application back in Dec 2011, she never travelled outside the country before. I was approved as her sponsor in February and our application was transferred to the embassy in Feb 2012. The same month, i had to go to Singapore for a week for my work. My wife met me there also for the week (shes from philippines and don't need a visa to go to Singapore). After that week, i came back to canada and she went back to Phils.

The embassy request her passport in april. My question is : can this cause delay because she travelled a week there? she had no travel history before that, but now that she have a Singapore stamp on her passport, i was wondering if this could cause more delay.

thanks in advance

Travel history, for CICs purposes, means residing in a country longer than 6-months. A week here, or two weeks there, is not what they consider travel history, so you're good to go.

They really ought to use better language, as I can see how 'travel history' can be confusing. You'd think they mean 'any' travel, but in fact, it means 'residing' for a period of 6-months or more.

Just another example of how confusing CIC makes this whole process.
