I've a question for the senior members:

Is it possible to travel abroad for few days after the landing, but before having received the PR card?

Someone told me that after landing and before receive the PR card you cannot leave Canada.

Please advice.

On the CIC website it looks like that the PRTD is only feasible if you already had your PR and you lost it. Moreover you can only pay the fees if you are abroad.

It's best if you don't leave the country before you receive your PR card, this being said there has been cases that people have traveled through on a land vehicle (car, truck, etc) with just showing their landing paper.

You are eligible. Just more procedure to be done before you return to Canada since you dont have PR Card.
So only if urgent and unavoidable, then recommend to travel.

I just discovered that some airlines require the eTa mandatory to get on board (even if is not mandatory for CIC yet).

Ask before to get flight tickets.
