Hi - I am a new member who is currently processing my Permanent Residency application.

First off, My Husband and I got married in Nicaragua (as he has Dual Citizenship.) I, on the other hand has been based in Nicaragua for Work purpose for the past 2 years (which is how we met; I am a Filipino Citizen) Anyways, Some of the important Documents we have are in Spanish, such as our Marriage license, House contract and my police clearance.

Can somebody give me advice on how (and where) I can have these documents translated? Would the immigrations have a specific service for this (translation from Spanish to English?) How does this work exactly? has this be notarized by a lawyer from Nicaragua? Help!

I am currently on a visitor status in Canada and would like to submit all the pertinent documents while I am here.

Thanks so much

We got our important documents (birth certificate, police clearances) certified translation to English. My husband is also a Nica. We got the certified translations done local here in Florida though they were very expensive. It is about $100 a page.

Thanks for the info.

I know a couple of translators who can do this for us as well :) However I would like to know of the translations require to be notarized or is there a certified organization here in Canada who is suppose to do the translations...
