Transit Visa Confusion :::: URGENT :::: HELP !!!!

Hi all,

I have booked my flight from delhi to victoria on 30th April. Airline is Air Canada.

It has two halts and change of planes as well, before reaching Victoria, B.C.

First halt is in Frankfurt - Germany, which is for 7 hours. I'll have to take a connecting flight(Air Canada) from Frankfurt to Vancouver.
Then the flight has a halt in Vancouver for an hour, then another connecting flight(Air Canada) to Victoria(Finally!!)

So, the confusion i have is that, do i need a TRANSIT VISA for Frankfurt, since there is a connecting flight, and not the same flight.
Am afraid, there may be a change of terminal as well at Frankfurt (I'll arrive at different terminal and connecting flight may be from different terminal).

I have no idea, while changing terminals, will i have to go through immigration checkpost of Frankfurt or not??

hey spoiltz ...thereis no transit visa required unless you to come out of airport...but mk sure with the airlines as there is no transit visa required except USA n some gulf countreis. its beta to check wid airline they know bettaa

Not required... You will require a transit visa only if you travel via U.S.A...

I have absolutely no plan of coming out of the airport.
But since i'll have a change of flights (same carrier) at Frankfurt, i was a li'l worried. Changing planes may be tricky. I will arrive at the arrival terminal, and the next plane may depart from a different terminal(may be) ?

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TERMINALS ARE ALWAYS DIFFERENT AND IT COMES IN SAME AIRPORT...SO U NEED NT WORRY...IT BEST THAT U HAVE SAME AIRLINE

You need to check this with Air Canada.

TWOV (Transit Without Visa):
Visa required, except for Nationals of India holding onward
tickets in transit [[TIRULES/R32]] ONLY through Cologne/Bonn
(CGN), Frankfurt (FRA), Munich (MUC), Hamburg (HAM),
Dusseldorf (DUS) and ONLY when arriving on flights operated by
Air Berlin at Berlin Tegel (TXL). *Note: TWOV is not possible
when arriving from a non-Schengen Member State AND departing
to a Schengen Member State[[TIRULES/R34]]
See conditions per location: [[TIDFT/DE/VI/NO]]
- for holders of a valid visa issued by Bulgaria, Canada,
Cyprus, Ireland (Rep. of), Japan, Liechtenstein, Romania,
or United Kingdom; or
- a visa issued by USA; an expired visa for the USA will be
accepted, provided holding an I-797 notice of an extension
applicable to that visa; or
- returning from Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.

Now, I would suggest, as u have only 6 hours halt, you should rather enjoy frankfurt airport and it's really lovely airport. then catch your flight. don't even bother to go out and take the risk of missing your connecting flight.

you shouldn't worry at all. First of all, I suggest you not go out of Airport as halt is only of 6 hours, secondly, Air Canada Crew will help you with rest. So what you should do now is, shopping, pack your bags, enjoy rest of your days in India and prepare yourself for Canada. Do your research where you gonna stay, what's your budget, college or uni you will be joining, their Campus recruitment and on campus jobs, jobs available of the course you will complete in Canada, and if your college or uni has a online student forum, connect with them to know better about your course and to seek assistance.

One more question. Is baggage weight are same throughout destination?

My flight(Lufthansa) route is,

Chennai - Frankfurt
Frankfurt - Ottawa
Ottawa - Toronto

Is baggage weight same from ottawa to toronto because that will be a domestic flight right?

Ok, thx dude

About baggage... do we need to collect our baggage at every halt from previous flight, and then again get it loaded for next??
Or the airline will take care of this baggage? and i will just have to check in my baggage at delhi airport, and collect it when i reach Victoria?

I knw its silly ques, but i have nvr been abroad.
