Hi Everyone,

Finally I got passport request yesterday through email. :) I check my online application status its still "In process". I have following two question and I would highly appreciate if someone can guide me in this regard.

1) I am travelling to Pakistan, flight is already booked. My flight is on 9th February 2014 and I will be back on 19th February. So, you see I have only 07 working days prior to my travel. Should I send my passport right now or I should wait until I come back from back home. How long it takes them to send the visa, from the date we sent them the passport??

2) I am going to get married in Pakistan, but my fiance is Canadian citizen, As CIC mentioned in email that I have to inform them if I am getting married/having baby etc. Should I tell them about my marriage? If I do/don't that would it effect my PR?

Kindly response soon, I need to decide should I send the passport or not.

Thanks,
Wasim

First of all, Congrats for getting ppr.
When did you apply pr and in which category did you apply?

For your first question, It is safe if you send your passport right away and than leave for Pakistan after you get pp back
but if you are getting marry in Pakistan than you wont be able to postpone marriage.
CIC must gave you some time to submit so you don't need to worry about sending pp right away. You're safe to fly.

Answer for your second question is that you must inform cic for every change you make.
Even you change your address, you need to inform them.
So it is necessary to inform them about your marital status.

Best of luck in your future and congratulation in advance for your marriage :)

Shahzad,

Thank you for your. I applied under AINP within Canada. I got nomination in January 2013 and sent my application to CIC in Feb 2013.

Your right I cant postpone my visit and wedding, thats why I cant take a risk to send my PP right now. But what do you think I should do after coming back, should I tell them I got married? Wont that delay my visa? Should I just be silent on that matter?

Thank you once again.

Hi Wasim,

I suggest you not send your passport. You will not get it back in time. I would go ahead with your travel plans and send the passport upon your return. You've waited over 1 year so a few more weeks will not hurt. So enjoy your moment and don't add any more stress or pressure to yourself. You should be upfront with cic and advise them of your marriage. It should not matter really because as you've said your fiancé is a canadian citizen and so it should not hold up your processing. Westzhu had a baby after his application was submitted. He was processed around the same time as other feb applicants. So don't worry about it. Honesty is always the best policy.

You don't need to inform before getting pr. It might delay process for sometime. Just keep quite and once you done everything go ahead and tell them. But you should tell them whatever changes you make.
Yeah, dont take risk sending pp.

hello guys

It is important for you to learn about the steps you need to take to get your credentials and qualifications recognized in Canada. Citizenship and Immigration Canada recommends that you review the resources on the Foreign Credentials Referral Office's website (www.credentials.gc.ca) and the Department's website (www.cic.gc.ca) for helpful information about living and finding work in Canada. If your application will be processed through China, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan or the UK, you might receive information and an invitation letter from CIC about free in-person assistance. In order to participate in this service you will require an invitation letter from the CIC mission which will be sent to you during the later stages of the immigration process if you are determined to be eligible for it. You can access information about this free in-person assistance at www.newcomersuccess.ca . Actual participation in this in-person service is not a guarantee or an indicator that your immigration application will ultimately be successful or that you will receive an immigrant visa.

Thank you for your interest in Canada.

Now my question is,
you might receive information and an invitation letter from CIC about free in-person assistance. In order to participate in this service you will require an invitation letter from the CIC mission which will be sent to you during the later stages of the immigration process if you are determined to be eligible for it.

when this could happen Huh??
