Uh oh! Do you really need the PR card right away? Otherwise look for other travel doc options if you are travelling. Hopefully some day they will start giving out their super secret reason for denial when people start complaining about their lousy process. Till then i will just defer my appln.Guess what?! I received a second rejection just now! The first one came 1 and half months after landing; the second rejection 1 and half months after sending a new set! And this time too they don't tell me what is wrong with the photos!
There should be some way to escalate this. This is insane and a complete waste of time!
Call them - that's usually the fastest way to get a response even when they keep you on hold for 40 minutes! However, I don't get how you "applied" 2 days after landing. You don't have to apply for your first PR card, it gets sent to your mailing address within 60 days if the photos get accepted.
I've had a very pleasant experience with Canadian immigration so far but the PR card wait feels unnecessary and a waste of time especially since our photos were rejected not once but twice without any reason being given.
Good luck to you and your family.
Hi case specific inquiry some times take around 7 - 10 days to get a reply from them.
Question: I was under impression that one's PR card comes under processing the moment they land and need not to apply separately. How come you applied for PR 2 days later?
Wow sorry to heart that! Where did you get your photos taken?Guess what?! I received a second rejection just now! The first one came 1 and half months after landing; the second rejection 1 and half months after sending a new set! And this time too they don't tell me what is wrong with the photos!

Thanks very much. It's a week now as I had raised a case specific enquiry but no response. I wish toYou can make a case specific enquiry,

My pr card shows approved today..after around 7 days from the the day when it changed to updated for few mins...hopefully I will get it by early next week...from ITA to PR card, it took exactly one year.....however my wife got a photo request today...looks like she has to wait for another 50 odd days for her PR card!!!Based on few recent posts in this forum, this is my theory...when the account gets updated and goes back to submitted...pr card goes to production for printing..it takes around one week...once card gets printed..staus in my cic becomes approved..and at the same time they also mail the card..finally card arrives in 2-5 days based on location...I landed on April 4th, staus chaned to updated on May 16th for few mins..hoping to get approved sometime next week around May 23rd..let see if this really happens......again I may be totally off..but don’t have anything useful to do over the long weekend......

I would say give it one week and if still in progress, maybe it's worth calling them to ask for an update. I did call CIC weeks ago to confirm my address, and found out border agent only updated main applicant's address but not the dependent. My husband ‘s application is still in progress.
