Hello,

I held a Canadian visitor visa prior to becoming a PR. I visited canada twice as a visitor during my eligibility period. The total duration on the visitor visa was 5 days.

When I try to enter the issue date and expiry date of my visitor visa it says end date should be before PR date. The visitor visa was issued for 5 years.
How do I proceed? Should I enter the expiry as the date I received my COPR. Additionally, the online calculator seems to count these visitor days for physical presence. Is this correct?

If you PR date is lets say 30 Aug 2019(as per CoPR). Then visitor visa expiry date should be 29 Aug 2019.
In my case TRV was valid for 3 years i.e. from Feb 2017 until Jan 2020. I got PR in 14 Feb 2019. So I entered the TRV end date as 13 Feb 2019

Thanks @abbas.pasha Is it the date you landed or the date PR was issued. My PR was issued Feb 4, 2019. I landed March 1, 2019. So I assume I'll write the TRV validity until Feb 3, 2019? Additionally, I entered my visit details (5 days) on TRV in the physical presence calculator, is that required?

Its confusing because the calculator asks date you left Canada and date you returned. I was living in the US from 2016, visited canada in July 2018. My eligibility period starts Jan 2018. Wondering how I should fill this up

Since I was a inland applicant my CoPR date is the same as landed date..
Here is a break down of the dates I entered in the Physicals Presence Calculator hope this will help
PR Date: 14 Feb 2019
Application Date (date i signed/sent the citizenship application): 2 Aug 2021
Eligibility Period (system generated): 2 Aug 2016 - 1 Aug 2021
Time in Canada as a Temporary Worker: 24 Feb 2017 until 13 Feb 2019
Calendar Days (System calculated) : 720
# of Days (System calculated): 360 (Number of days as a Temporary Worker is calculated as half for PR purposes)

In my opinion these dates should be included for dates you left Canada and entered Canada during the eligibility period.

@adi92 If you landed on 1st March, then you became PR on 1st Mar. I am assuming when you say 4th Feb, it's the date when your CoPR was issued. If that's the case then 4th Feb isn't right.

Also do include any durations of you stay as visitor before becoming PR as it will be counted for your citizenship.

Thanks @deeps1987 , how do I end up filling the details on the form:

Visited as a tourist: July 1-5, 2018
Eligibility Period : Jan 15 2018, Jan 15, 2023

The form asks:

Date you entered Canada: ???
Reason: Other - Lived in USA visited as a tourist

I am trying to figure out the sections you are filling.
What I gather is:
Date you became a permanent resident: 1st March 2019
Temporary resident status: Visitor
Date you received the status: 1st July 2018 (Note - this date is not when you got your visitor visa for canada but when you arrived first time)
Date your status expired: If no visitor record was issued, you status expired after 6 months which is 1st Jan 2019

So when you are filling the section where it ask details when you left Canada, you should provide Date you left Canada as 5th July 2018 and Date you returned to Canada as 1st March 2019.

Hi @deeps1987 ,

You are almost correct. I my visitor visa was issued in July 2017. Visa expired day I became PR, so Feb 28, 2019
Travelled to Canada as a visitor on July 1, 2018
Returned to USA: july 5, 2018

So my physical presence calculator looks like this (eligibility period Jan 15, 2018 to today)

1.
Date you left Canada: Jan 15, 2018
Date you returned to Canada: July 1, 2018
Reason: Other- Visitor to Canada, resided in USA

2.
Date you left Canada: July 5, 2018
Date you returned to Canada: Mar 1, 2019
Reason: Other- Visitor to Canada, resided in USA. Moved to Canada on Mar 1, 2019

I get 0.5*5=2.5 days for my time as a visitor

Temporary resident
StatusDaysMultiplierCredits
Visitor4090.5204.5
Outside Canada404-0.5-202
United States of America176
United States of America228
Total Credits as temporary resident2.5

Permanent resident
StatusDaysMultiplierCredits
Permanent resident141711417
Outside Canada270-1-270
Total Credits as permanent resident1147
Total days of physical presence1149.5

Does this make sense??

Though looks right but I do not think you need to provide date you left Canada as 15 Jan 2018 as I understand you were not in Canada to leave. So I am little unclear.

If you are reflecting visitor visa as status, my understanding is that just having a visa is not a status. Status is granted the day you arrive.

Take a look at these images

Great thanks! did you do the same for you application? I think I pretty much did the same. The confusing part for me is the date you received temporary residence and the date it expired. Not sure if it should be July 1- July 5, 2018 or July 1 to Feb 28, I've held the multiple entry VISITOR visa since 2017.

I followed similar steps yes, but my dates were different in comparison to yours.
I date I received TRV would be the date I arrived in Canada for the first time i.e. Feb 24, 2017 (even though I got the visa stamped in Jan 2017 in UAE).
Expired date for TRV on the physical presence I entered was Feb 13, 2019 as I got PR on Feb 14, 2019.
That's why for you to follow the steps, I created the above screen shots.
As I understand from your posts above with @deeps1987 my understanding is that you were provided a visitor visa (once) which was for multi entry/exit to and from Canada.
