Hello friends, need your help in filling up IMM5710E form. Many have asked this question already, but I could not found a specific reply on this, so asking again. If anyone who has received their BOWP can reply specifically, then it will really help everyone.

Q3- What among the following is to be selected for applying BOWP? ( I am currently on closed WP, but would like to apply for BOWP based on my AOR)
- A work permit with the same employer
- An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
- Restoration of your status as a worker
- Temporary Resident Visa

Coming into Canada
Q4 - Which one is the 'document number' on my work permit? - Number inside the box/ Number below the box/Application Number displayed below

Details of Intended Work In Canada
Q2a - Typed 'BRIDGE OPEN WORK PERMIT' - Is this fine?
Q2b to 7 - Left blank - Is this fine?

Chose either 'same employer' or 'new employer'. It doesn't matter for the BOWP application.

Q4 - Which one is the 'document number' on my work permit? - Number inside the box/ Number below the box/Application Number displayed below

I put a number starting with Uxxxxxxxxx in that field and got mine approved.

You don't have to, but it's not a bad idea. I did it as well.

Yes, looks good. These were the documents I had to submit as well.
I think I chose 'work permit'.

Both answers gives me almost the same checklist but when I answer WORKER, ask me many more question and in the end gives me option to choose between International experience and Open Work Permit.

As long as you get the option "Open Work Permit", then you'll be fine.

Hello everyone!

First of all thank you for all of this good tips, they really help a lot.

I have a question here:
I did my eligibility test at the very beginning in order to get my personalized application Kit to apply for an Open Work permit Online through MyCIC.
As a result I got a couple of Forms to fill up: The main one which is the IMM5710(Change conditions...) and at the Supporting Documents section, they are asking me for a IMM5707(Family Info) Form.
I friend of mine just got his BOWP and he told me he was never asked for this form. We are from different countries so I thought that could be the reason. He though I might have chose a wrong answer in the eligibility questionnaire, so we double checked together. We learned that depending from which country the nationality of your Passport is, you will get more or less Forms. Anyway, I am ok with that, but here is the confusing part:

I am a citizen from Spain, and in the IMM5707 instructions there is a list of countries that need to fill up that form, Spain is NOT on that list. They also mention that "If you require a Temporary Resident Visa (TVR) and your country does not appear on the list, you would have to fill up a from IMM5645, INSTEAD of IMM5707" They provide you with a link to check if you need a TVR based on the nationality of your Passport, and again, Spain does not need a TVR.

So, if I don't need a TVR, and if Spain does not appear on the list of the instructions of the IMM5707 from, am I supposed to fill up and submit this application form?
Is there anything I might be missing?
Anyone had a similar issue?
