Hey,
Thank you once again for the quick reply, about BLS link, yet to investigate. however my parents are still in chennai\India.
For Tamil Naud or Chennai, PCC are given thru Passport Seva Kendra --> http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/online/pccOnlineApp
Note: in this link when you click for appointments, it does have chandigarh too
It would be good idea to check with the local SP office in Chennai for the PCC process as well.

I am waiting for sponsorship approval too.
I tried to contact CIC call center and even applied for GCMS notes too. There seems to be no more information than "AOR Received".

I hope our files start moving along too.

No visible movement is not good in fast paced PGP applications processing.

There has been minimal updates to the PGP applications in last 2 weeks for Ottawa LVO. So what is keeping Ottawa LVO so busy? When can the applicants with submitted Medical and PCC docs expect an updates?
Relax....from a glimpse of 2014 and 2015 sheet, a few got PPR today (Oct 17) with medical rec'd early to mid Sept, so I'm patiently waiting for my turn. Cheers~

Hello all,

Can someone clarify something for me...if I (sponsor of my husband who is PR now) have been filing my taxes for past number of years and have MNI as a co-signer to his sponsorship for PGP, can we theoretically apply for sponsorship of his parents even if he doesn't have an NOA? I don't think we'll be back in Canada in time for the next "cut off" (2017) (will miss it by a couple of months) but we will definitely be there for 2018 (and he wouldn't still have any NOA's by the 2018 cut-off)

I can't find any reference to the sponsor actually having to actually be in Canada for a set period of time, only that people seem to be inferring this by equating NOA with physically being in Canada (which is not necessarily the case)

Finally a silly question perhaps...but I assume there is no way to sponsor parents and grandparents at the same time? (he has one set of grandparents still alive)

Thanks much in advance.

Thanks for encouragement. Is it fair to say the average wait time between medical/pcc and ppr could be 1 month?

Hi All,

I have received document request for Police Certificate from Hong Kong for my parents, Hong Kong will only mail original police certificates. I tried to search online for the address to send to in Ottawa processing centre and found conflicting address. on CIC, it said send to

Documents request
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1L1

but online forum in Canadavisa, some people said send to

219 Laurier Avenue West,
7th floor, section B
Ottawa, Ontario K1A 1L1

which one is correct and most up to date?

Thanks a bunch

Hi Rossie...you seem to be very knowledgeable in this area and after reading the posts I wasn't able to find the answer to my question above...what do you think?

Hi Rossie,
Re: prr medical exam
Thanks in advance
I need expert knowledge for the medical exam of my parents. My parents both have TB couple decades ago, treated, both applied supervisa before went through medical exams. After did the medical exams for both dad and mom, cic only requested furtherance medical test for my dad he is over 70. Now he has to seea radiology specialist as well in addition to spatum test. Is it common to just request one not both to go through the same since the condition is similar except age.

I still have the problem signing in my cic account to see the messages from CPC-Ottawa. I still get Error-500 "Internal Server Error".

Anybody here still in the same boat as me?

I honestly don't know the answer. There are 3 things that need to be considered:
1) You guys are not living in Canada currently - I assume. Besides being PR/Citizen of Canada, you also need to live in Canada as the Guide 5772 says.
2) Your husband cannot provide NOA while you can as a co-signer. It may work, but I'm not sure.
3) You can apply for parents and grandparents in 2 separate application packages (verify it with other sources/people) as long as you meet MNI for all these people + your family.

Guide 5772 says re: Sponsorship Eligibility,

In order to sponsor, you must…

- be 18 years of age or older;
- be a Canadian citizen, Registered Indian or permanent resident;
- be sponsoring a member of the family Class;
- live in Canada;
- sign an undertaking promising to provide for the basic requirements of the person being sponsored;
- sign an agreement with the person you are sponsoring that confirms that each of you understands your mutual obligations and responsibilities;
- prove that you have sufficient income to provide the basic requirements for your family members in Canada as well as the persons included in your sponsorship undertaking. You may also have a co-signer.

Someone in similar situation will be able to shed more light on it.

Well, you cannot do anything else, can you? If CIC asked for further tests only for your father, you do it for him for now. If you want to do it for your mom at the same time, I guess you can do it; but do not send the results to CIC until they request for it.

As far as TB goes, I perhaps carry the bacteria as we were given TB vaccines during our childhood back home. I never had to test for myself in Canada but my wife does TB Skin Test (not Sputum test) every year as she studies in health sector. And her test always comes positive (for the vaccine she took decades ago). So, I think there is no need to worry.
