can you share us your experiences on declaring money at the airport? for example i will be carrying USD6000 and CAD$7000. sum of the money that i will be carrying is around CAD$13k.

what are being asked by the airport here at NAIA and in Vancouver? did you experienced customs asking for documents where you get the money? if yes, what are the documents that we need to show them? kinakabahan pa ako sa NAIA customs natin kesa dun sa Vancouver e...

Personally, I brought only 10k in combination of cash and cheques. Distributed across me and my wife, is was 5k each so no need to declare any amount at PH Immigration. At PoE, Customs only asked if I was bringing in in excess of 10K, to which I replied no and told them I have 5k in cash and cheques. They just looked at my declaration and verified what I said against what I checked off in the declaration.

Hello, Sir. Ask ko po sana about my situation. Just today I received a call from my boss that I will be sent to Vietnam for outstation for 6 months. Waiting napo ako ng MR. I got my AOR-CIO last Feb 25. Kung makapag medical po ba ako this month pwede kong tanggapin ang offer? Ano po kaya ang magandang gawin? Pwede po bang tanggapin ko then pag passport request na e from Vietnam ko na lang ipapadala ang passport for the stamp? Possible po ba iyon? Do I need to inform the visa office that I am not in Manila? Anyways, kung magkaron din naman po ako ng visa I plan to leave cguro mga Oct or Nov pa naman po kaya iniisip ko din kung tatanggapin ko. Sayang din po ang kikitain ko doon. Sana po ma-guide nyo po ako. Salamat po! God bless.

We were the only first time immigrant who entered during that flight so we have all the attention of the immigration officer. The immigration officer did not ask much question except those 2 questions in the CoPR of which the answer should be "No".

The officer also asked how much money we brought (no need to show the money and demand draft) and the list of items we brought as well as list to follow. then, he gave us brochure where to get SIN and health card.

Our luggages and boxes were not opened when we went out from the airport.

Over all we had a fantastic landing. Every one is smiling and welcoming.

Yes - declare what you have upon entering Canada (cash + cheques + other financial instruments)

You are not required to declare the $1k as it is less than the amount that needs to be declared at customs. . And you do not have to declare any other funds you do not have with you at landing, answer only queries fro, CBSA officers when asked how much are you bringing into the country. The funds are not taxed even if not declared.

But then again, the country has other ways of getting taxes from you....come filing of income tax here, you will know
