Good day everyone! Has anyone experienced a need to update a change of address upon having a "decision made" and an added Canadian home address in the ecas status? Our Canadian address is not updated. My brother used to live in Spruce Grove but moved to Edmonton last year. He updated our program officer about the change of address, but my ecas status indicated the old city where my brother used to live. I tried updating online, but I kept getting error. Has anyone tried to "not" update this anymore and was ok upon entry in Canada? It's still the same province anyway. I have a copy of my brother's email about informing them of the change of address, plus -- upon entry in Canada, the Immigration Officer will ask about the updated address where they'll send the PR cards anyway, right? Do enlighten me, please - to those who have the same experience or to those who have an idea. Thanks in advance, guys :)

You may try to post your question here in this thread -
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/search-results/-t73191.0.html;msg1822047;topicseen#msg1822047

Those in the thread may guide you on landing - and having the address to where your PR card is sent updated at POE. You may want to check this out:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/arrival.asp - CBSA will ask you to confirm your Canadian mailing address, during that time you may inform them of the change. IMHO it does not hurt to bring along proof of mailing (utilities bill etc.) showing the address of your brother if you intend to have your PR cards mailed to your brother's new mailing address, and show that to the CBSA officer upon landing.

And congratulations on your DM! :) - is that a correct assumption? :)

Thank you Ragluf for the two link's you provided. You definitely hit the spot! My brother emailed CEM yesterday about the change of address, apparently it takes a while for the update in ecas. But CEM acknowledged the change of address this morning, so all I have to do is relax and just wait for the revised address online - therefore I will occasionally check the ecas before landing Canada (still got two lovely months in our beloved homeland) and then again after landing to check the status of PR card - as per the brilliant link you gave. Gosh, all these reading and researching you've been doing for us! Appreciate all the help, Ragluf. Like I've said once, and I'll say it again... you are brilliant! :D

And yup, that is a correct assumption. I got a DM last monday and saw the incorrect Canada address the following day. Emailed CEM last night c/o brother, and got an acknowledged reply this morning. Life is great :)

Usually this is the longest period in the application process, from MR to getting PPR. Here is a brief info guide on the application process from the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/next_steps.asp
If your brother was not requested for submission of updated/additional docs and only was requested for IME and have completed this, barring any other requests from the VO - he should be prepared to wait anywhere from 3~5 months, in some cases it may be more than that. Use the processing times as published here to gauge the time he has to wait: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp

Applications in the PH are averaging 11months - but that is based on 80% of cases processed up to Sept 30, 2012.

See here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=012&t=4

If you have previously applied to CIC (WP, TRV etc.) - you will have a UCI. But if this is your first application to CIC, via sending your PR application to CIO-NS , then your file number or client ID will come with your AOR.

If you have only filed your application to CIO this November, wait a bit - your acknowledgement from CIO-NS comes in a few weeks, followed by the AOR from your VO after another few weeks. You will see your client ID/File number on those documents.

Visa Office is Embassy of Canada in Manila (formal), but although it is much more known informally as CEM (Canada Embassy Manila). Official site is here: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/index.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

There is another consulate office in Cebu, FYI.
