Time Line for PR Card Holders

Hi,

Me and my family landed last year, 2011 in Feb and got our PR cards by mid March 2011. After that we came back to Kuwait, where we are currently living. Now we are planning to make a permanent move to Canada in June 2013. Please advise if our Permanent Residency status will remain valid till June 2013? and infact what is the maximum time that we can stay outside Canada considering that we received our PR cards in March 2011? Also, is it mandatory that we must make a visit to Canada every 6 months from the time we landed till the time we permanently move to Canada?

Look under Permanent Residency Obligations, you should find answers to all your questions. However, yes you can return at the mentioned date. To maintain status it is 2 years residency in previous 5 years, no 6-month rule.
