oh people goooood news to share my husband got passport request!!!!

we got on jan.23rd with date of jan.10th!!!

Well, congratulations! We have our first PPR!

Now, if only a certain U.S. visa office would pick up the slack... :-[

I can't log in ecas too, some people said we will not receive anything within 6 months, one of my friend receive her AOP after 4 months, so I guess there is nothing we can do now. However, I'm going to call CIC next week because I want to be sure they receive my app

yeah its nice to have all these people who are in a similar situation.. at least we all understand the frustration of just sitting around and waiting. i have my fingers crossed for everyone and hopefully everything will work out.. it's still hard but u know what its worth it!

luckiest guy, you mean when they asked for the passport request thats when they asked u to pay right? but they didnt mention delaying the process by 2 months or nothing?

When we got our AOR from the visa office they emailed my wife and asked her for 3 things 1) her passport 2) Quebec approval letter (we're moving with my family in Quebec so Quebec gov't must approve) 3) pay the $490. Actually she got 2 emails. The first asked for only 2 of these things, the third asked for all 3 and we later got a letter in the mail asking for 2 of those. The email explained though that the letter was sent before the emails and the first email was sent before they knew all the facts so we must send all 3 things to them and that we had 45 days.

Hi evryone, a quick question. decision was made on my app on 7th Jan 2011 and still waiting for letter. can any1 tell how long would it take ? its been over 2 weeks now. shud i wait or call CIC ?

London CIC ECAS status

Hello All
I am sponsoring my wife who lives in Ireland, republic. we send our application to mississauga canada on 9 th of nov and recived a letter stating sponsor application is approved and teh application fro PR is forwarded to London UK office. we did not hear any thing from them for a while so i send an email requesting the file #, they replies with the file number and i am not able to track the application status in ECAS for the PR application. but it shows the status of teh sponsor ship application as decision made. under the PR application it shows not available is it normal for the london office its been almost 5-6 weeks after they recieved the application in london
our time line is:
Application send 4 th of Nov 2010
AOR recieved 9th of Dec 2010
Application recieved in London-Dec 17 th 2010
Med done Oct 17 2010
interview-- ??
PPR---- ?????

heyy krishwaiting.. I think its normal ? Im hoping it is because im in the same boat as you.. my application was approved on dec 7th and transferred to the office in Beirut/Damascus.. HOWEVER i've contacted BOTH offices a week ago.. and NONE have anything !!

I spoke with MISSISSAUGA and they said that they sent it right after it was approved and they have no reason to keep it ... SO MAYBE.... IM HOPING SO ANYWAYS that the office in BEIRUT/DAMASCUS has RECEIVED IT HOWEVER they have not yet got that far with the processing and are still working on applications received earlier..

Im really praying this is the case because if my application is lost... wow .. great ! no idea what i'd do.. probably just give up and go live with my husband in lebanon

congratulations ohohogirl on the passport request! yay! That's super fast. Did they send you an AOR or update the status in eCas to in process? Just curious how the timing was because as we know it doesn't always seem to follow in a logical order.

LuckiestGuy - when I re-read your messages below, does that mean also you have received a passport request (can I put the date for that too?).

Hope everyone is doing well and staying positive, I know it's not always easy. I feel so in limbo waiting to hear from Sydney, Australia... I wish I had more feedback from them, especially with the new baby coming I really want to get there and settled fast. Sigh...

(I’m using the dates that are on the letters).

AOR - Acknowledgement of Receipt – the first official document that says the application for permanent residence status has been received.
PPR – Passport request – Immigration requests passport when they are ready to issue the visa.
DM - Decision made (waiting on letter to confirm)

I decided to email the Buffalo Office using the Case Enquiry form on Saturday - surprisingly today I received a response back from them! Wasn't expecting a response so quickly.

Anyways...I asked if there was anyway to know if my application was sent to them and currently being worked on since my sponsor received approval a little over 6 weeks. They replied saying the following:

We are currently creating family class applications received December 1, 2010. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement upon creation of your file.

Hopefully the get to ours soon (Mines was "sent" on December 9th)

Yes they did ask for my wife's passport but I thought the process was Sponsorship approved, AOR, interview (if necessary), approved, PPR, Landed. So I thought nothing of it when they asked for her passport with the AOR.

Hi all,

I went ahead and requested CAIPS notes (from caipsnotes.com). It's supposed to take 30+ days.

I've obviously received no AOR as of yet, but I'm hoping I have my AOR by the time my request for CAIPS is processed, that way I can know what my BF (bring forward) date is, within the next month or so.

Of course, if they'd rather give me my AOR this week, and give me my PPR before my CAIPS request is even looked at, that'd work too!

I plan on requesting CAIPS notes every month until this whole ordeal is over. It sucks; it's $35 per request, but whatever. Caipsnotes is the cheapest. You can also get them for free if you live in Canada (or have your sponsor do it for you), but I figure my sponsor has done enough for me (paperwork-wise), so I don't really mind.

Good luck to us this week. It'd be nice to see some updates from our 5-ish Buffalo people. Let's keep thinking about our October friends as well.

This is AWESOME!! It's nice to have some idea where they're at! CIC Mississagua supposedly "sent" my file December 17 (as dated on the letter my sponsor received). SO, with that said, my file should be created within a couple of weeks I assume. Good deal.

MizzCanAm, you *should* be the first of us to get AOR/InProcess by Buffalo, judging by when Mississagua was done with your file, and where Buffalo is with their processing of applications!!

You will. I'd give it two weeks at most, unless Buffalo somehow gets backlogged and slows to a crawl (unlikely).

If they're processing applications received as of December 1, they should see yours ANY day now.
