The Old vs. The New - who gets processed and how fast?

there are hundreds of thousands of applicants, like me, under the old category, i.e. applied before 27 February 2007.

Has anyone ever seen any official Canadian Immigration comment as to how they will manage the backlog of old applicants, whilst fast-tracking those who qualify under the new scheme?

I would like to see something in black and white, say, a commitment to providing 50% of processed cases to each category.

I am also thinking of writing to my Canadian MP (for the area where I plan to live and work) to see if answers can be obtained that way.

The old applicants are proccessed in the number of years posted in the website,3-4 years in some cases,the new ones in a year

I am still in chaos ,what oes it mean 6 to 12 months ,as the process starts as i submit my form to sydney or these 6 to 12 months start after document submission to local visa office ,when will iut starty ,has anyone outlook of thisone?thanks and takecare
